Long course/Ironman Training weekend with Lucy Gossage & Caroline Livesey

Functional Fitness Events will be coordinating a training weekend specifically for lronman/long course triathletes on the 11/12 April 2015. The training Camp will take place at the Nidderdale Leisure Centre, Low Wath Rd, Patley Bridge, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG3 5HL. Elite and top Age Group coach Mark Livesey (current GB Middle Distance AG Champion & Texas AG Champion 2014) will be coordinating the weekend with the main focus being on high volume swim/bike/run/bric sessions, specific for ironman training. If it's your aspiration to try and qualify for KONA, or to PB this year then this weekend is a must. You'll get get lots of advice, plus top tips from experienced Elite and top AG Ironman athletes.
Elite Ironman Champion Lucy Gossage and Ironman AG series Champion 2014 Caroline Livesey will be joining us over the weekend (other Elite athletes TBC). This is a unique opportunity to experience how our top athletes train and race for Ironman. You will also have the opportunity to ride (guided) some of the best cycle routes in the UK, including some of the major climbs of the Tour De France 2014.
Sat 11 April 2015
08.00hrs - 08.15hrs. Arrive at Pateley Bridge Leisure Centre.
08.15hrs - 08.30hrs. Meet and greet (Coach Mark Livesey - and Elite athletes).
08.30hrs - 1200hrs. 3hr + ride on the challenging climbs of N, Yorkshire. Route details to follow soon.
1200hrs - 1315hrs. Lunch (not provided). Village is walking distance with lots of great cafe's and restaurants.
1315hrs - 14.45hrs. 90 min run (up the beautiful Nidderdale Valley).
14.45hrs -1600hrs. Rest and Q&A chat with Elite athletes and coaches.
1600hrs - 1800hrs. Swimming session (session TBC, but will be strength endurance/long intervals 4 to 5km in total).
2000hrs - Athletes will have a choice to have dinner at a local restaurant ( not included in the price).

0900hrs - Meet at leisure centre for a long bric session. The session will include a 3hr ride followed by a broken 90min run interval session. The run will incorporate 1 mile RP reps and 4 x 400m intervals at tempo pace. More specific details for this session to follow.
13.30 - 14.45hrs Lunch (not provided).
14.45 - 1600hrs - Discussion on Ironman key sessions with the Coaches and Elite athletes.
1600 to 1800hrs Another 2hr swim session (this is optional if you wish to travel back home).
This weekend is specifically targeted towards the more experienced Ironman/Long course athlete and will incorporate high volume training. It is not for the novice triathlete. If this is something you don't normally do during a weekend then it is strongly suggested you don't attend. I would recommend athletes who are consistently doing sub 10.00hrs for men and sub 11.00hrs for women to attend.
